Sustainable with safety: tbm hightech control receives the EcoVadis bronze medal

Sustainable action is essential in order to fulfil our responsibility for future generations. Sustainability means far more than just protecting the environment; it encompasses all aspects of corporate activity and must include aspects such as the environment, ethics, labour and human rights and sustainable procurement. With its solutions for safety in intralogistics, tbm hightech control GmbH supports other companies in one area of sustainability. And for tbm itself, sustainability and environmental compatibility have been an integral part of its own activities for many years. In order to further promote its own sustainability goals and make the importance of sustainable action visible to others, tbm carried out the EcoVadis evaluation process and was awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal for the year 2024.

EcoVadis: rating with a role model function

EcoVadis is the world’s largest provider of sustainability ratings for companies. Its ratings have a guiding function that many renowned companies follow and base their supplier selection on. EcoVadis honours tbm hightech control with the bronze medal for 2024. This puts tbm in the top 35% of companies assessed. ‘We are proud that we are not only among the role models with our safety technology products, but have also been among the environmentally conscious companies that have been committed to sustainability and our planet for many years,’ says Patrick Bischoff, Managing Director of tbm hightech control GmbH. ‘The EcoVadis Bronze Medal also makes this visible to outsiders and our customers and partners – and encourages them to follow the same path.’

tbm hightech: living sustainability in everything we do

The basis of the EcoVadis assessment is the sustainability charter that tbm has set itself and implements anew every day in its business activities: a focus on labour and human rights along the entire international supply chain, which is to be expected for a company that develops solutions for occupational safety. tbm has implemented clear guidelines and processes for this, which are regularly reviewed and communicated in training courses. In the area of the environment, the aim is to minimise our own ecological footprint. This is achieved through energy efficiency measures, waste reduction, recycling programmes, the use of renewable energy and recycled materials, the integration of environmental aspects into product development and manufacturing – and, last but not least, regional production to keep transport routes as short as possible. tbm promotes a corporate culture based on integrity, transparency, equality and inclusion and ethical behaviour. In order to make procurement as sustainable as possible, tbm favours suppliers and partners who share similar sustainability values and have also anchored sustainable practices in their business processes. There is a particular focus on promoting local suppliers and the use of fair trade products.

Through this broad anchoring and multitude of different, often small individual measures, sustainability becomes a powerful matter of course that is cultivated and practised throughout the company.
