The USA and Japan have no problem with dark doldrums, but the situation is different in Europe. This is particularly true in Germany, where there are no more nuclear power plants in operation and the goal is to move away from fossil fuels. One consequence of this is the high electricity prices in Germany, unlike in the USA and the rest of Europe. Due to the current dark doldrums, electricity prices have reached a record high. It should also be mentioned that there are phases in the summer when electricity generation is so high that the price of electricity can become negative.
This shows the great advantage of nuclear power, which can provide a reliable supply of electricity. Countries such as the USA and Japan also rely on nuclear power to operate data centers – a new huge consumer of electricity. Around nine percent of global electricity generation currently comes from nuclear power. And this figure is set to rise, as a look at the nuclear power plants planned or under construction shows. This will be accompanied by an increasing demand for uranium. Good for uranium companies such as Premier American Uranium or Uranium Energy.
In the USA, Uranium Energy – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/uranium-energy-corp/ – owns low-cost, environmentally friendly ISR uranium projects. Further uranium projects are located in Canada.
Premier American Uranium – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/premier-american-uranium-inc/ – has large properties in uranium-producing regions in the USA, in Colorado and Wyoming.
